Living palette

Like painters, who have tubes of colours to create a composition and various brushes to give it different textures, we, as garden designers, use living hues of flowers and foliage and visual roughness or smoothness of plants to generate emotions.

Nature's palette is also providing us with forms and lines which we dose with the same care and attention. We use not only different colours to evoke certain feelings, but shapes and patterns of plants much in the same way too.

Like the dome shape and descending lines of a willow tree transmit a sense of restfulness and calm, the erect form and ascending lines of Yucca beams with excitement and dynamism.

Plants are incredibly diverse and with combinations of their visual properties they can produce almost infinite range of emotions. We carefully select species and varieties not only to bring out the best qualities of individual plants in the garden, but also to achieve unity and strong desired effect of the overall composition.

At Design in Latitude, planting scheme is always a result of patient work to create certain visual and emotional response and a special atmosphere for every garden.

Like painters then, we aim to create a beautiful and engaging artwork. Unlike painters' though, our composition, as it is created with a living palette, never ceases to evolve.
