Country gardens
The countryside has something special to give to people who live there: the impression of being part of something wider. The actual space to exploit is not only the one trampled or grown but it is also the one simply admired and not touched. The surrounding landscape plays a fundamental role in the feel of the garden: it is actually from the entire site that the garden develops its own character.
We work hard to build harmonious connections between the house, the garden and the landscape, to let the local flavour of the region drive the design and catch the very true essence of the place and its identity.
And we search this identity not only above the ground, in the hills, the trees the weather, but also under the ground, in the geology which affects the soil texture and the drainage.
Respect is the direction that drives our designs. A physical respect for the land, for its natural materials, native plants and wildlife, and an intellectual respect for the place and its social and cultural heritage.
